About the Role: We’re not your typical bank. We started with a simple mission: to Change Banking for Good. Central to this mission is our Finance team. We are looking for a visionary leader to join us as our Head of UK Card Accounting. As the Head of UK Card Accounting (Senior Manager level), you will be the driving force behind our financial integrity and a key player in the UK Finance Leadership Team. You will lead, inspire, and grow a talented team responsible for all internal and external financial reporting for our UK Card business.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and nurture the UK Card Accounting team, focusing on talent development and creating an environment where everyone can excel.
  • Drive Financial Excellence: Oversee the delivery of robust internal and external financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Think Strategically: Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial context, evaluate strategic initiatives, and influence business-critical decisions.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Drive the evolution of our financial processes and controls, leveraging technology to automate and streamline operations.
  • Collaborate as a Leader: Work closely with the UK CFO and other Finance leaders to shape the broader culture, strategy, and vision of Finance at Capital One UK.

The skills and experience you need:

  • A Proven Track Record: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience, ideally within Financial Services.
  • People-First Leadership: Passion for leadership and ability to build, motivate, and coach a diverse team.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to connect financial performance to overall business strategy.
