As an FP&A Analyst you will get a lot of guidance and support from your manager and colleagues but also a lot of freedom to do things your own way. It is an opportunity to put your own stamp on the monthly processes within the UK Cost team, and get exposure to lots of senior stakeholders in the business. You will develop and own the relationships, reporting, budgeting, and preparing outlook for some of the most important parts of our UK business. With guidance and coaching from your manager, we want you to drive financially sound decision making across the business. It’s a really varied role where you will be a trusted deputy, and develop and own relationships with stakeholders. There will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in Finance activity that impacts the entire Business, as well as supporting project work with exposure to the Finance Leadership team. We expect you to be able to talk to the business and your stakeholders about the impacts of their decisions to their (and the business) financials. You will provide effective support, problem solving, and expertise in your area.

What you’ll do

  • Synthesising and simplifying financial and non-financial data
  • Developing strong business relationships in the Business and Finance to incorporate business context in everything you do
  • Partner with key stakeholders in the business to produce monthly Outlook and Annual Budget reports ensuring that any risks or opportunities are effectively communicated and understood
  • Ensure all month end activity is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Monthly reporting, variance analysis & commentary, Outlooks, journals, etc.
  • Streamlining monthly processes by finding efficiency gains through easier ways of doing things or automation
  • Work in partnership with senior stakeholders and senior FP&A Managers to drive sustainable efficiencies for the business and ensure any investment is optimised

How you’ll be doing it

  • Competent use of all systems and applications relevant to the required outputs of the role (e.g. OneStream, Workday, GSuite, Microsoft Office)
  • Own and maintain reporting, outlook, and journal files (usually workbooks in google sheets)
  • Investigating new technologies and tools to into your workstreams to drive process improvements
  • Developing relationships in the business and leveraging business knowledge to reflect business changes in our financial numbers
  • Identifying and focusing on the key risks and opportunities of the business (in particular in your areas)
  • Collaborating across finance teams to deliver business outcomes together, taking into account upstream and downstream impacts
  • Effectively prioritizing high-value tasks, working autonomously while exercising the judgement to elevate issues to management in a timely manner

What we’re looking for

  • Strong problem solving skills. To be able to utilize tools like Xstream, Google Sheets, and Apps Script to build repeatable, long-term solutions for monthly BAU processes
  • Advanced Google Sheets/Excel skills. Coding experience is a plus, but a strong desire to develop coding skills using AI is essential
  • Good communication skills, in particular the ability to quickly build relationships and interact effectively with junior and senior stakeholders (with coaching and support of your manager and colleagues)
  • The skills to confidently and accurately talk about your business areas and answer questions / solve problems
  • Strong analytical skills e.g. overall story, accuracy, spotting errors and asking the right questions
  • Strong technical skills (e.g. familiarity with python, sql, some coding language experience etc) a plus. A desire to develop these skills is essential.
  • Continuous improvement and change-agility mindset, with a desire (or interest) to investigate new technologies and tools to achieve this
  • Studying towards an Accounting qualification is a plus but not a requirement
  • Some relevant professional experience is desired

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. Our hybrid working model offers you the flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We're big on collaboration and connection, and so our typical office days are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
