Ensuring we have a thorough understanding and robust management of the data the UK business creates and uses is crucial. This is essential to ensuring our business is well managed, giving users ultimate confidence that the data they are using is available and of the highest quality. We are seeking an energetic and forward‑thinking individual to join us to help build, deliver, improve and lead on data management across the business. In this role, you will work on a variety of strategic and technical activities to solve complex problems, drive technical convergence, and safely operationalise Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks to unlock the power of data through excellent data management.

What You’ll Do

  • AI in Data Management & Strategy: Help create an AI‑literate Data Management team, understanding AI tooling risks and benefits, whilst collaborating with broader analytics teams to champion key data considerations.
  • Frameworks & Governance: Identify key data management principles to enable safe, scaled AI, and evolve our frameworks to meet changing AI and regulatory needs.
  • Operationalise & Unlock Value: Drive and implement AI within the Data Management Team (DMT), leading the thinking on near‑term value unlocks that enable end‑users to self‑serve through AI.
  • Strategic Alignment: Understand and plan for advances in Enterprise AI Data Management Strategy, advising on how the UK business should be structured to align.
  • Technological Convergence & Core Infrastructure: Serve as a technical lead for convergence migration, covering data storage, definitions, lineage, quality, modelling, access and consumption.
  • End‑to‑End Coordination: Ensure critical migration factors are met, including setting up correct access profiles, migrating metadata/data quality rules, and setting up UK analytical teams for success.
  • Enterprise Integration & Roadmapping: Partner with Enterprise teams to plan migration sequencing and dependencies, whilst driving our broader data strategy by identifying industry maturity gaps.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Risk: Collaborate with stakeholders to drive policy‑compliant practices across the data lifecycle, executing data management assessments through 2nd and 3rd‑line reviews.
  • Talent Development: Coach, nurture and develop associates across the business to ensure a thorough understanding of their data management responsibilities and the value behind them.

The Skills and Experience You Need

  • Core Skills & Capabilities: Ability to use critical thinking to resolve complex problems, acting as an owner to identify, document and manage data issues.
  • Influence & Communication: Strong judgment coupled with excellent communication and networking skills to influence stakeholders and drive meaningful business change.
  • User‑Centric Solutioning: Capability to provide actionable advice and create solutions or communications that help end‑users self‑serve, access and navigate data.
  • Innovation & Advocacy: A track record of bringing new ideas and establishing new processes that support data strategy, whilst acting as an ambassador for the team.
  • Delivery & Leadership: Proven ability to manage structured business processes, nurture stakeholder relationships and successfully deliver large, value‑add activities.
  • Technical Knowledge & Experience: A strong understanding of, or keen interest in, Data Management, Data Risk Management fundamentals and policy compliance frameworks.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Basic operational knowledge of Cloud data ecosystems, AWS infrastructure or modern analytical data warehouses.
  • Lifecycle Management: Experience with practices supporting the data management lifecycle, including registration, usage, quality, retention and external data sharing.
