This is a Hybrid role, the IT Quality Assurance team work from our London (Shoreditch) Offices 3 days per week.

IT – Quality Assurance Team at Capital on Tap The Quality Assurance team is dedicated to ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. We focus on implementing best practices, driving quality initiatives, and fostering continuous improvement in our development processes.

What You\’ll Be Doing As a QA Team Lead, you will lead a team focused on delivering high-quality software. You will be instrumental in shaping our testing strategies, promoting a culture of quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge Sharing & Team Development: Foster knowledge sharing, maintain documentation, and facilitate continuous improvement through retrospectives.
  • Influence & Advocacy: Build relationships across teams to champion quality initiatives, drive decisions on software quality and security, and align stakeholders on quality standards from inception.
  • Approach & Strategy: Implement continuous feedback, develop balanced test automation, and incorporate diverse perspectives into QA processes.
  • Impact & Results: Reduce technical debt, highlight QA\’s impact on customer acquisition and retention, and contribute to agile testing practices for reliable releases.
  • Ownership & Leadership: Manage the QA automation backlog, oversee sprint testing, and champion automated testing integration for incident response.
  • Mastery & Expertise: Exhibit strong command of test automation tools and agile methodologies, utilise metrics for effectiveness, and show technical leadership in API and microservice testing.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Encourage experimentation, stay updated with industry trends, and balance automation with exploratory testing.
  • Self-Improvement & Professional Growth: Seek cross-training opportunities and actively seek feedback to help with your professional development.
  • Customer Focus: Prioritise customer experience in testing efforts and collaborate with customer service for regression and new test cases.

We\’re Looking For Required skills:

  • Proven experience in a QA leadership role, preferably within the tech or fintech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation strategies, tools (e.g., xUnit, RestSharp, Cypress), and agile methodologies.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in agile metrics and tools for measuring testing effectiveness.
  • Data-driven approach to decision making, with a strong focus on quality metrics.
  • Commitment to customer-centric thinking and improving the overall user experience.
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to work across engineering, product, and support teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and foster a high-performance culture.

Interview Process First stage: 30 minute intro and values call with Talent Partner (Video call)

Second stage: 45 minute CV overview and Tech Chat with Head of QA and Lead People Partner (Video call)

Third stage: 90 minute code pairing with QA Team Lead & Senior member of the QA team (Video call). This will be followed by a 30 minute conversation with the Product & Engineering Manager. (Video call)

Final stage: An opportunity to meet an executive member of the business for 30 mins. This will be to assess your alignment with Capital on Tap\’s way of working and our values (Video call)
