This is a Hybrid role, this team works from our London (Shoreditch) Offices 3 days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
Do you have a passion for financial operations and accuracy in reporting? Are you detail-oriented with a knack for managing reconciliations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards? We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in the financial reporting process, ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately and all reporting requirements are met. This role is perfect for someone eager to work in a dynamic FinTech environment and contribute to the development of efficient and robust financial processes.
- Month-End Processes: Support the preparation of month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for multiple group entities.
- Ledger Oversight: Ensuring transactions are captured and reconciled correctly in line with IFRS or UK GAAP directly supports the Financial Reporting Manager in maintaining accurate financial records.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax computations, including VAT filings, corporate tax provisions, and annual tax reporting, while keeping up-to-date with relevant tax regulations.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare and substantiate monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Statutory Reporting: Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries under IFRS or UK GAAP, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Audit Support: Work closely with external auditors during audits, addressing queries, and ensuring timely resolution of audit issues.
- Process Improvement: Improving reporting processes and controls aligns with the manager’s focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial reporting.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and support other ad hoc financial tasks as required.
We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CIMA-qualified (or equivalent) accountant. Strong understanding of IFRS and/or UK GAAP.
- Experience: Hands-on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance. Exposure to consolidated UK statutory reporting is highly desirable. Experience with NetSuite or other integrated financial systems is an advantage.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL reporting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships across various teams.
- Attributes: Self-motivated and adaptable individual with a proactive approach. Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
