This is a hybrid role based in our London (Moorgate) office, requiring work on site two days a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to lead one of our product engineering teams. This is a people‑first leadership role where you will manage the growth, wellbeing, and performance of a team of engineers while maintaining technical credibility to shape direction, remove blockers, and raise the bar on quality.

What You’ll Own

  • Team: hiring, developing, retaining engineers and running impactful 1:1s.
  • Delivery: partner with Product and QA to plan and ship reliably, removing obstacles and managing risk.
  • Culture: set tone for communication, feedback and accountability, building psychological safety while maintaining standards.
  • Technical credibility: understand trade‑offs, architecture decisions and technical debt, contributing meaningfully to those conversations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership experience – managed engineers, able to have hard conversations, give developmental feedback and motivate people through uncertainty.
  • Technical foundation in .NET – backend is C#/.NET Core, need depth to review decisions and spot risks.
  • Product mindset – think of engineering in terms of business outcomes, push back on scope, advocate for quality and translate between engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity – create clarity for the team when priorities shift.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure cloud development.
  • Familiarity with React or front‑end delivery.
  • Background in regulated financial services or fintech.
