Capital on Tap proudly serves over 200,000 businesses across the world and our goal is to help 1 million small businesses by 2030. This is a hybrid role. The Account Sales Team works from our Brighton office 3 days a week.
As an Account Sales Team Leader, you’ll lead a high-performing team of Account Sales Managers responsible for driving growth and retention across a portfolio of high-value SME customers. This is a commercial leadership role with real ownership. You’ll be accountable for customer spend growth, team performance, and continuously improving how we serve and scale our most valuable accounts. You’ll coach, challenge, and develop your team while using data, insight, and experimentation to improve results — not just maintain them.
Responsibilities
- Owning performance across a portfolio of high-value SME customers, ensuring we are front-of-wallet and maximising long-term spend
- Translating wider business strategy into clear priorities, targets, and behaviours for your team
- Balancing short-term results with long-term customer value
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Account Sales Managers
- Running structured coaching, 1-2-1s, and performance reviews that drive real improvement
- Creating a high-performance culture built on accountability, clarity, and trust
Performance & Analytics
- Reviewing performance through KPIs, dashboards, and workflow analytics
- Identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities — then acting decisively
- Setting clear daily, weekly, and monthly targets and holding the team to them
Process & Improvement
- Owning and evolving playbooks, processes, and tools that help the team scale
- Acting as a key advocate for customer-led improvements, using insight to influence change across the business
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in sales, ideally within financial services, B2B, or SME-focused environments
- Has led high-performing sales or account management teams and can evidence results
- Commercially sharp and comfortable owning numbers, not just managing people
- Highly data-driven and comfortable using insight to shape decisions
- Thrives in environments where expectations are high and change is constant
- Motivated by building something better, not just running what already exists
