Job Vacancy: Admin Officer Part‑time (3–4 days per week, flexible) £25,000–£30,203.83 FTE (depending on experience)

About the role

You’ll provide high‑quality administrative, organisational and communications support across our projects. This role is central to the smooth running of the charity — keeping information organised, coordinating bookings, supporting staff and ensuring clear communication with partners and participants. Your main base will be our Chatham Street Community Hub (BD3), with occasional visits to Keighley and other community venues.

About Capital of Cycling

Capital of Cycling is a Bradford‑based charity using bikes to help meet social needs. We support community groups, families and local residents to access bikes, learn maintenance skills and take part in activities that improve wellbeing, confidence and connection. Our work spans community development, an e‑bike library, events and partnerships across the district, grounded in social justice and environmental responsibility. You don’t need any cycling knowledge to apply. We’re looking for strong organisational skills, good communication and someone who can support a small, busy and ever‑evolving team.

Key Responsibilities

  • General administration: Maintain organised systems for documents, registers, bookings and project information; Support staff with scheduling, diaries and internal communication; Assist with procurement, equipment tracking and basic logistics; Provide admin support for events, training and community activities; Support staff working on tenders and grant‑funded projects.
  • Communications & social media: Help create and schedule social media posts; Maintain mailing lists and newsletters; Draft and respond to routine emails and enquiries; Follow up phone calls and support client communication; Assist with gathering stories and case studies for reports and marketing.
  • Finance, monitoring & record‑keeping: Assist with basic financial administration; Support tracking of budgets and expenditure; Maintain accurate records for audits and funder reporting.
  • Customer service & client contact: Make calls to clients, community groups and participants; Provide friendly, timely responses to enquiries; Support smooth running of bookings, lessons and community sessions.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills and experience
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Confident contacting clients and partners by phone and email
  • Experience with spreadsheets and data management
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confident using Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

Desirable

  • Experience in a charity, social enterprise, public sector or community setting
  • Social media or digital communications experience
  • Finance monitoring experience
