Our client, a Global Bank, is looking to hire a VP for their Project Finance Portfolio Management team in London.
In this role you will manage a portfolio of 15‑20 project finance transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain robust credit vigilance over the portfolio, applying internal policy for grading and timely delivery of credit reviews.
- Proactively monitor risk indicators, apply appropriate credit grades, and support the Group\’s goal of mitigating credit costs and losses.
- Lead the analysis, preparation, and administrative execution of post‑financial close activities, including managing complex waiver requests, variations, and documentation modifications.
- Ensure strict compliance with all financial, legal, and covenant requirements of the loan documentation.
- Conduct in-depth financial and technical analysis, including detailed review of customer financial statements, project finance financial models, construction, technical, and operational reports.
- Prepare internal credit applications and lead discussions with various internal stakeholders (Credit Department, Operations, etc.).
- Manage principal interfaces with external parties, including agencies at other financial institutions, technical, legal, and financial advisers.
- Engage directly with customers on administrative tasks, such as KYC information gathering and attending project site visits.
- Coordinate internally with Origination, Syndications, Operations, Compliance, and other regional/global offices.
- Contribute to training and support of junior colleagues on internal processes and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Deep Project Finance Expertise: Significant, demonstrable knowledge of Project Finance theory, practice, documentation, and financial modeling is essential.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and numerical skills with a proven ability to interpret and analyze complex financial and technical information for risk assessment.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and drive discussions with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
- Transactional Experience: Direct experience in managing a loan portfolio post‑financial close, including processing waiver requests and handling complex documentation.
- Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of administrative tasks such as KYC and general regulatory compliance within a banking environment.
- Capacity: Proven ability to manage a portfolio of 15‑20 complex transactions and thrive in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment.
