We are working with a leading international banking institution seeking an Analyst / Assistant Vice President to join its Corporate Research team in London. This is a unique opportunity to combine industry research, credit analysis and transaction support within a highly visible team that works closely with front-office bankers, risk professionals and senior management. The successful candidate will develop expertise across the Consumer & Retail sector, delivering insights that support strategic decision-making, client engagement and transaction execution across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry and company analysis to identify key trends, opportunities and risks within the Consumer & Retail sector
  • Produce high-quality research reports, presentations and market updates for internal stakeholders
  • Support transaction-related analysis, including assessing the strategic rationale and risk/return profile of financing opportunities
  • Monitor industry developments, company performance and credit trends to support portfolio management and risk oversight
  • Develop financial models and analytical frameworks to evaluate corporates and industry dynamics
  • Engage with company management teams, industry experts, consultants and other market participants to enhance sector knowledge
  • Collaborate with banking, credit and risk teams across multiple regions to provide actionable insights and support business development initiatives

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience within corporate research, credit analysis, corporate banking, investment banking or a related analytical role
  • Strong financial statement analysis and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Genuine interest in industry research, corporate strategy and market developments
  • Degree from a leading university; further finance-related qualifications are advantageous
