Our client, a major Quantitative Hedge fund, is looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer to work closely with quantitative portfolio managers and researchers in a collaborative environment. This hire will be exposed to the entire research process and will be given input into the generation of trading strategies over time. This role gives you the opportunity to join one of the world's most successful hedge funds, collaborate with an exceptionally talented team operating in a hybrid approach, and earn market-leading compensation packages.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve data systems required to enable the quantitative investment process
- Develop tools and automation to onboard, classify, and reconcile datasets
- Analyze and validate data quality, supporting researchers in preparing data for modeling
- Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines, resolving issues quickly
- Collaborate with trading, research, and technology teams to improve workflows
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in data engineering/science within the financial industry
- Experience with ETL pipelines or financial datasets is a plus
- Strong Python skills; SQL and Linux familiarity
- Detail-oriented with a passion to work in fast paced trading environments
