Our client, a Global Bank, are looking to hire a VP for their Project Finance Portfolio Management team in London. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of 15-20 project finance transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management & Risk Oversight: Maintain robust credit vigilance over the portfolio, applying internal policy for grading and timely delivery of credit reviews. Proactively monitor risk indicators, apply appropriate credit grades, and support the Group's goal of mitigating credit costs and losses.
- Complex Transaction Administration: Lead the analysis, preparation, and administrative execution of post-financial close activities, including managing complex waiver requests, variations, and documentation modifications. Ensure strict compliance with all financial, legal, and covenant requirements of the loan documentation.
- Analytical Due Diligence & Reporting: Conduct in-depth financial and technical analysis, which includes the detailed review of customer financial statements, project finance financial models, construction, technical, and operational reports. Prepare internal credit applications and lead discussions with various internal stakeholders (Credit Department, Operations, etc.).
- Stakeholder and External Engagement: Manage principal interfaces with external parties, including Agency functions at other financial institutions, Technical, Legal, and Financial advisers. Engage directly with customers on administrative tasks, such as KYC (Know Your Customer) information gathering and attending project site visits. Internally, coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with Origination, Syndications, Operations, Compliance, and other regional/global offices.
- Team Support and Development: Contribute to the training and support of junior colleagues on internal processes and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Deep Project Finance Expertise: Significant, demonstrable knowledge of Project Finance theory, practice, documentation, and financial modeling is essential.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and numerical skills with a proven ability to interpret and analyze complex financial and technical information for risk assessment.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and drive discussions with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
- Transactional Experience: Direct experience in managing a loan portfolio post-financial close, including processing waiver requests and handling complex documentation.
- Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of administrative tasks such as KYC and general regulatory compliance within a banking environment.
- Capacity: Proven ability to manage a portfolio of 15-20 complex transactions and thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
