As a partner of DNE Laser Machinery the company offers the full DNE sheet metal range with comprehensive warranty support and demonstration capabilities for customer components.

Its facility in Newry showcases refurbished used machines, each supplied with a standard parts and labor warranty.

The company also maintains a wide stock of press brake and punch tooling, including custom options, to support reliable production.

A team of fully trained Amada engineers delivers rapid-response servicing, maintenance, and repairs, supported by an extensive parts inventory to minimize downtime for customers.

Role Description

This is a full-time, all Ireland Laser Engineer role based around Ireland and Northern IReland.

The Laser Engineer will install, configure, and optimize fibre laser machinery and other sheet metal machinery such as press brakes and welders, ensuring accurate and efficient operation for sheet metal manufacturing.

Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving laser system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting customers with technical guidance on machine capabilities and applications.

The role involves collaborating with service engineers to improve machine performance, documenting technical findings, and contributing to continuous improvement of laser processes and standards.

The Laser Engineer will also assist with demonstrations, training, and commissioning of new and refurbished laser equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Engineering and Laser technologies, including alignment, calibration, and troubleshooting of industrial laser equipment.
  • CNC sheet metal machinery knowledge
  • Experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D) related to laser applications, process optimization, and new machining techniques.
  • Relevant technical qualification in Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial machinery, preferably in sheet metal or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a safety-conscious approach to working with high-power laser systems.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel within the region for site visits, installations, and service support as required.
