Community Health Service Wellington has a Health Care Assistant (HCA) position available. The shifts are 5 hours a day, mainly morning shifts from 8am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, with evening shifts from 5pm to 10pm and weekend shifts as required.

We provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to individuals and families in their homes. We offer an orientation program and ongoing education for our HCAs. The HCAs assist with activities of daily living such as personal care and household tasks for clients who are temporarily incapacitated due to illness or post-surgery. A close relationship is maintained with professional nursing staff (District Nurses) for ongoing assessment and advice in delivering personal care.

Requirements include:

  • Completed Level 3 NZQA qualifications in Community Support Services (or equivalent)
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transport
