As a Portfolio Strategy Specialist (PSS), you will be at the heart of our Portfolio Strategy Management (PSM) capability—helping to shape and deliver equity investment strategies tailored to our clients’ needs across a wide range of vehicles.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of quantitative analysis, portfolio construction, and strategic execution. You will work closely with equity investment professionals, technologists, and operations teams to ensure our systematic strategies are implemented with accuracy, insight, and scalability.
What You’ll Do- Apply deep knowledge of systematic portfolio construction to support and evolve Capital Group’s Equity PSM strategies.
- Interpret quantitative Equity risk model outputs to make confident, data-driven daily investment recommendations.
- Collaborate with quantitative research and analytics teams to refine and enhance the Equity systematic investment process.
- Independently manage the daily investment process for mature Equity PSM vehicles.
- Deliver high‑quality rebalance recommendations and ensure timely execution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot real‑time production issues, ensuring decisions meet market deadlines.
- Partner with Technology and Quant teams to evolve our decision‑making systems and data environment.
- Identify opportunities for research and process enhancements from day‑to‑day operations.
- Lead change management efforts for new strategies and model updates, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Understand the objectives of various investment vehicles (SMA, Lux, CIT, SA, ETF, etc.) and how Equity PSM strategies meet those needs.
- Monitor vehicle customisations and ensure alignment with Capital's equity reference strategies over time.
- Lead resolution of issues impacting portfolio construction and represent findings in governance forums.
- Collaborate across Product, Investment Group, and Operations to support new product launches and strategy expansions.
- Represent PSM in client onboarding, RFP/RFI processes, and internal discussions with Legal, Compliance, and Technology.
- Develop new applications of PSM models and processes to support Capital Group’s growth initiatives.
You are passionate about investments, markets, and systematic decision‑making. You have 5+ years of experience in quantitative or analytical roles, ideally with exposure to portfolio construction. You hold a 4‑year degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, finance, economics). You are skilled in interpreting complex data and making sound judgments. You are curious, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement. You are a strong communicator who can collaborate across diverse teams. You are able to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
