CFM is looking to hire an Associate / Vice President, Strategic Opportunities to work closely with the Head of Strategic Opportunities on some of the firm's key strategic priorities. This is an early and high-impact individual contributor hire in the Strategic Opportunities team, with scope to grow as the function develops. The team sits at the intersection of business intelligence, strategy, operations, legal, product and counterparty relationship management.

The role covers identifying and shaping new ideas, assessing commercial and operational feasibility, contributing to practical solution design, coordinating preparation workstreams, and supporting implementation. The Associate / Vice President will work across Research, Investor Relations / Business Development, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Administration, and Technology, and will engage with key external stakeholders including prime brokers, banks, advisory firms, and other service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and shape new strategic opportunities for the firm, including new investment capabilities, products, markets, client solutions, partnerships, and selected corporate development topics, and translate early-stage ideas into structured proposals and decision frameworks.
  • Build business cases covering strategic rationale, commercial opportunity, operating model implications, and key risks. Prepare decision materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to solution design and implementation planning for approved initiatives. Support execution of approved strategic initiatives by providing additional research when needed and proposing solutions to identified issues.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including PB consulting teams, to progress strategic matters, develop counterparty relationships, and identify opportunities to deepen and expand those relationships over time.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and peer analysis to inform strategic decisions; prepare high-quality materials and recommendations for senior management.
Your Skills
  • You have a degree from a highly regarded institution and Associate / Vice President of relevant experience in hedge fund or asset management strategy, COO/business operations, investment bank strategy, or top-tier management consulting.
  • You are a strong strategic thinker, able to structure ambiguous problems quickly and translate them into clear frameworks, business cases, and actionable recommendations.
  • You are highly execution-oriented, with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from concept through to delivery.
  • You communicate with clarity and precision, and build trust with senior stakeholders through sound judgment and the ability to align and influence across functions.
  • You have a solid understanding of financial markets and the asset management or hedge fund landscape, and can engage credibly across trading, technology, operations, risk, and compliance.
  • You operate with high autonomy and ownership, thrive in a lean and high-standard environment, and are comfortable navigating complexity and shifting priorities.
