Rockhopper is an award-winning protection and mortgage brokerage in the City of London. We are seeking an experienced Wills and Estate Planner to join our team.

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Remote working. Hybrid during initial training at 22 Tudor Street, London EC4Y, then monthly training days in office.

Leads: Our existing client bank

Also: 29 days including birthday and bank holidays. Pension. Professional and network fees paid.

The clients are already ours. Every mortgage and protection client we have advised has a house, a family and no will, or an old one that no longer says what they think it says. We have never offered them anything about it. You would be the reason we start. This is a new service, so you are building it rather than inheriting it. The client bank, the referrals from our advisers and the administration are already here. The proposition, the process and the standard are yours to set.

Our AI technology does the work that is not advice. Calls recorded, transcribed, searchable. Client documents drafted by AI from the transcript and checked before they reach you. Every file examined before it goes out, not a sample. Every recommendation is still signed off by a person, with the heavy lifting done by our AI systems.

What we need:

  • Recent experience drafting wills and advising on estate planning. Not a trainee position.
  • Working knowledge of trusts, lasting powers of attorney, probate and inheritance tax.
  • The judgement to know when a client needs a solicitor rather than us.
  • The ability to hear what a client has not said out loud.
  • The discipline to work remotely without anyone standing over you.

The money: £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience. A straight salary, with no commission, no tiers and no targets hung off it. This is a new service and we would rather you built it properly than chased a percentage while you did.

How we decide: Your CV and completion of our online psychometric test. A confidential conversation, then an interview with the people you would work alongside. The testing comes first so every applicant is read on the same evidence, and nobody is turned down on a score alone. We are an equal opportunities employer and recruit on capability. If you need an adjustment at any stage, tell us before you start — asking will not count against you.
