Overview

Capital City Partnership (CCP) is an arm’s length company of The City of Edinburgh Council.

It manages employability and poverty reduction measures, grants and contracts, policy advice and research, and coordinates networks and hubs across Edinburgh, including the Joined Up for Jobs network and the Joined Up for Business employer strategy.

Job Purpose

The New Scots Employability Officer sits within the Joined Up for Business family and has an operational remit supporting New Scots jobseekers with a Ukrainian focus.

The post-holder will provide employability guidance, coordinate recruitment and training requirements, and ensure each jobseeker has access to appropriate resources and is linked to relevant services.

Clients may include those who need to become job-ready as well as job changers requiring additional support to move into employment.

The post-holder will also work directly with employers to connect jobseekers with relevant vacancies, maximizing employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide employability guidance to jobseekers, with a Ukrainian focus, and coordinate recruitment and training needs to ensure access to appropriate resources and services.
  • Work directly with employers to connect jobseekers with relevant and suitable vacancies, supporting successful job placements.
  • Deliver one-to-one employability support predominantly in person, with some work from satellite offices such as Recruitment and Skills Hubs or Capital City Partnership offices as required.
  • Collaborate within the Mac Millan Skills Hub team (based in Pennywell, North Edinburgh) and across the Joined Up for Business network to support the city’s employer offer.
  • Link jobseekers into CCP’s employment and training offers, Job Fit framework, and the network of Recruitment and Skills Hubs (e. g., FUSE, Mac Millan Skills Hub, Fort Kinnaird Recruitment and Skills Centre).
  • Coordinate with partner organisations within a supply chain of over 60 organisations to deliver employability support.
  • Provide information, guidance, and referrals to appropriate services to help jobseekers progress toward employment.
  • Work Arrangements

Most work is delivered in person, with occasional activity from satellite offices or CCP’s main offices. Remote or home working is supported when necessary.

Place of Work

Main workplace: Mac Millan Skills Hub (Mac Millan Community Hub, Pennywell, EH4 4AB) with occasional flexible home working.
