The Senior Manager will form a key part of the HSE Team supporting the health functions which require HSE input, actively supporting Capita’s business units, and prioritising the focus on the wellbeing, health and safety of our team, our service users, and others.
Responsibilities- Accountable for all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) related activities within TfL AWN.
- Provide strategic direction on HSE matters to the AWN Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and chair/lead presentations into the monthly HSE Forum (aligned to TOR Purpose and Scope).
- Communicate the HSE Policy, HSE Standard and HSE Management System to the appropriate levels within TfL AWN, ensuring all positions are aware of their responsibilities for all HSE requirements.
- Drive a proactive safety culture and lead initiatives to embed behavioural improvement and organisational learning.
- Ensure compliance with Capita’s global/BU HSE standards and frameworks (e.g., KPIs, safety management system, HSE escalation processes).

- Chartered or Practitioner-level HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, GradIOSH/CMIOSH) - Essential.
- Demonstrable experience operating as an HSE Manager/Lead in a complex operational or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and proven experience managing CDM duty‐holder activities - Essential.
- Experience in incident investigation, RCA, compliance audits and risk assessment - Desirable.
- Competence in managing HSE data systems (e.g., CASPER, SHAPE).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including with senior leadership and client bodies (TfL).
- Experience working with large transport/public sector clients - Desirable.
