Job Description

What you'll be doing

  • Copilot & agents — Build and extend conversational and agentic experiences using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, custom engine agents, declarative agents, plugins, and connectors.
  • Power Platform — Deliver intelligent automation and apps using Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, and AI Builder; apply Application Lifecycle Management (solutions, environments, pipelines) and governance.
  • Pro-code AI on Azure — Develop, fine-tune, ground, and deploy models and agents on Azure AI Foundry (model catalogue, prompt flow, evaluations, agent service), integrating Azure Open AI, Azure AI Search (RAG), and related Azure services via SDKs and APIs.
  • Enterprise agentic delivery — Own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise-grade agentic solutions, from design and build through deployment, change management, and driving user adoption at scale.

  • Technical leadership — Set patterns and reusable assets for the Lab, conduct design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and advise stakeholders on technical feasibility and the low-code vs pro-code trade-off.
  • Skills and capability development — Build capability across the AI Digital Lab by sharing engineering practices, reusable patterns, and practical guidance that help colleagues strengthen their AI, automation, cloud, and software delivery skills.
  • Well-Architected delivery — Apply Microsoft Well-Architected Framework principles across AI and automation solutions, ensuring designs consider reliability, security, operational excellence, performance efficiency, and cost optimisation from discovery through production.
  • I Innovation — Track the fast-moving Microsoft AI roadmap (Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry) and translate new capabilities into practical, valuable solutions.

How to prepare for a job interview at Capita

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Capita uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
