Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster
Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.
You will be responsible for the instruction of military students in Communication systems principles, maintenance & fault diagnostics.
The purpose of this role is to provide the delivery of Radio Frequency systems principles to Royal Navy students on their Phase 3 career courses across the 4 cadres of the Weapons Engineering department.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
This role is a Term time only role with 2 weeks holiday at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. Salary is pro rata\’d on this basis

Job Description:
What you’ll be doing
- DeliveringRoyal Navy Communications systems maintenance and repair training
- Working collaboratively across functional areas within Weapons Engineering delivery area
- Ensuring outstanding relationships with the customer and within the Weapons Engineering training area.
- Using data, information and insight on the performance of individual establishmentto drive continuous improvement and learning across the RN WE training.
- Ensuring KPI’s and SLAs are met or exceeded relating to the delivery and assessment of learning across Royal Navy training including simulated and synthetic programmes.
What we’re looking for
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Experience in principles of Communications systems, maintenance & fault diagnosis of these systems.
- Foundation Degree in Engineering (FdEng)
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Level 3 teaching certificate or equivalent (will be enrolled on an internal training course if not held).
- Maintenance & fault finding on Military engineering communication systems or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Royal Navy Weapons Engineering departmental workings or equivalent experience.
About Selborne
Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
