Join us as Assessment Centre Manager at the Army Assessment Centre in Glencorse, where you'll oversee a busy, high-profile operation that plays a critical role in identifying the next generation of Army personnel. Leading a team of military and civilian colleagues, you'll ensure every candidate receives a professional, supportive, and engaging experience while maintaining the highest operational standards.
Reporting to the Head of Selection and sitting on the Assessment Centre Management Board (ACMB), this full-time, permanent onsite role offers the chance to influence strategy, lead people, and deliver meaningful results. This is a full-time permanent role, working onsite at the Army Assessment Centre in Glencorse. You will be required to work one weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday), time can be taken as time off in lieu.
What you’ll be doing:
- Pro-actively leading your Team Leaders to take ownership for your people’s performance and development, that supports the achievement of business priorities
- Setting clear and realistic performance objectives
- Ensuring all assessments are carried out in line with the correct process and there are sufficient staff to run scheduled selection events
- Ensuring centre staff have the necessary training, coaching and feedback to perform their role as required and are effectively performance managed
- Facilitating creative thinking within your teams to stimulate change and improvement to people processes, customer service and partnerships
- Representing your Business area at Operational, Strategic and Business meetings
Essential qualifications/skills/experience:
- People management with proven experience at operational level, leading and developing high performing teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships
- Flexible to work one weekend each month
- Passion for and capability in improving Customer Experience
Desirable qualifications/skills/experience:
- An understanding of the military, would be an advantage
- An understanding of assessment
