Keeping our armed forces running smoothly as a medical officer. As a medical officer for the Capita Recruiting Partnering Project (RPP), you’ll conduct efficient medical screenings, appeals and approvals at our Army Assessment Centre. By ensuring the right candidates pass assessment, you’ll support the recruitment process and contribute to building lifelong careers in the army. You will work with a dedicated team of fellow medical officers, clinical staff and administrators, contributing to national security and the local community. This part‑time role offers a good work‑life balance, with no shift work or night work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face‑to‑face medical assessments, paperwork screening and appeals for Soldier and Officer candidates.
  • Assist with coaching of clinical staff to meet productivity, quality and outcome measures.
  • Deputise for the lead medical doctor during any absences.
  • Assist with the first‑level appeal process and maintain appeals within the agreed service standards.
  • Maintain GMC registration, licence to practise, accreditation and skill mix.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with licence to practise, without restriction.
  • IT literacy and experience with Microsoft programmes.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines.
  • Effective communicator in person and on paper.
