We're currently recruiting for a Senior Communications Lead to design and lead communications and engagement for a complex, high profile Capita Public Service programme implementation, go-live and operation, establishing confidence, enabling successful contract implementation and supporting safe transition to live services under intense stakeholder, media and service user scrutiny. This is the first dedicated communications role into the programme and is responsible for setting strategy, standards and ways of working, before building and leading a small communications team as the programme scales.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own a comprehensive programme communications and engagement strategy covering implementation, transition, goâlive and live service phases.
- Ensure communications activity supports programme delivery, assurance and risk management.
- Set the strategic direction, tone and professional standards for communications across the programme.
- Act as trusted communications adviser to programme leadership and senior Capita stakeholders.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with senior Government stakeholders, including experienced clientâside communications leads.
- Represent Capita credibly and confidently in highâscrutiny environments.
- Lead delivery of communications activity across:
- TUPE and workforce transition
- service integration and mobilisation
- phased onboarding of departments and armâsâlength bodies
- complex service goâlives
- external reputation, media and issues management
About You
Essential experience
- Significant experience leading communications for largeâscale transformation, implementation or complex programmes.
- Proven experience operating credibly with senior publicâsector or regulatedâenvironment stakeholders.
- Track record of developing and delivering communications strategies in highâscrutiny environments.
- Handsâon experience across implementation, transition and goâlive phases.
- Experience building or leading communications capability within a programme or change environment.
Desirable
- Experience working within or alongside formal change methodologies.
- Central Government, shared services or largeâscale service transformation experience.
- Experience of TUPE, workforce transition or service migration communications.
