We’re looking for a proactive Public Affairs Advisor to strengthen Capita’s engagement with government, parliament, and key industry stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that matter to communities and clients across the UK. What You’ll Do:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, MPs, civil servants, trade bodies, and industry influencers to advance Capita’s strategic objectives.
- Briefing & Meeting Coordination: Organise meetings with government and industry stakeholders, including scheduling and logistics, arrange accommodation and travel where required for senior executives attending meetings or events. Compile and write comprehensive briefing packs for meetings, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Liaise with internal departments to gather materials, data, and insights related to the meeting topic, ensuring all briefing documents and supporting materials are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Strategic Communications: Draft letters, emails, and briefing notes for senior executives, ensuring tone and messaging align with Capita’s corporate objectives and government priorities.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the organisation and management of parliamentary dinners, showcases, including agenda planning, invitations, and follow-up communications.
- Thought Leadership Support: Contribute to the development of content that positions Capita as an innovator in public service delivery, including AI solutions and procurement reform.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Business Development teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with business goals.
- Report Submission: Prepare and submit critical government reports, including the Cabinet Office Annual Review and HMG’s Corporate Resolution Planning (CRP), ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely delivery.
- MP Casework Management: Handle MP casework by liaising with the appropriate internal departments to investigate issues and drafting formal responses, including letters to MPs, ensuring timely and professional communication.
