We’re excited to introduce a new leadership role: Head of AI Security. This is a strategic position within the Group CISO’s Strategy function, with responsibility for Capita’s AI security posture at a critical point of change in the threat landscape.

What you’ll be doing
- Owning Capita’s AI security strategy and posture
- Line managing a small, established team of Security Architects
- Providing security leadership across AI-enabled platforms and products
- Partnering with AI technology leaders and Group CISO teams (policy, behaviour and culture, security management, and SecOps)
- Engaging with Capita’s AI Council and the wider business
- Building a demonstrable and defensible AI security framework that builds internal and external trust

You will be operating at the leading edge of AI-enabled Business Process Outsourcing in the UK, shaping the trustworthiness of services relied upon by millions of people every day. This is a rare opportunity to influence AI security at enterprise scale—both now and for the future.
Essential Skills
- Experience with demonstrable depth in AI and emerging technology security.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional or virtual teams in complex organisations through influence rather than authority.
- Experience developing and executing security strategy, in a large or regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of AI threat taxonomy: prompt injection, goal hijacking, memory poisoning, non-human identity abuse, and multi-agent attack surfaces.
- Understanding of EU AI Act, NCSC AI security guidelines, OWASP GenAI Security Project, and MITRE ATLAS.
- Ideally involved in academic and/or industry research on AI Security.

- Influence-based leadership: build accountability and momentum across organisational boundaries without direct authority.
- Communication: produce high-quality briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.

- Relevant professional qualification: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or equivalent. Advanced or specialist credentials (ISSAP, Chartered SABSA, or equivalent) are advantageous.
