Make a Meaningful Impact with Your Clinical Expertise. At Capita, we are looking for compassionate and detail-oriented professionals to join our Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) as Functional Specialists. In this role, you will use your clinical knowledge to carry out functional assessments and compile evidence-based reports that help the Northern Ireland Department for Communities (NIDFC) make informed decisions about benefit claims.
Location: Belfast + 9 sites across Northern Ireland β Armagh, Ballymena, Coleraine, Dungannon, Enniskillen Foyle, Newry, Omagh and Portadown.
Hours: You will be contracted to work 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week (full time), and you will be able to agree your actual working hours with your line manager after training. Working patterns will be between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
Salary: A competitive starting salary of Β£39,500. After approval, you will be eligible for a discretionary bonus of 10% of base salary, subject to quality and performance.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Conduct telephone assessments and face-to-face functional assessments of individuals with disabilities or health conditions.
- Compile clear, concise and factual medical reports - no treatment or diagnosis required.
- Collaborate with regional managers and administrators to meet service level agreements.
- Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.
- Embrace ongoing feedback and professional development.
What We Are Looking For:
- One yearβs post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic or doctor.
- Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, GMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A professional, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to undergo BPSS security clearance.
Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete government baseline personnel security standard vetting. This is the recognised standard for the pre-employment screening of individuals with access to government assets.
