The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe working environment across Northern Ireland, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice. This role involves providing expert advice, conducting inspections and risk assessments, delivering training and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the continual improvement of health and safety standards within the organisation.
To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be based in Northern Ireland, as travel around assessment centres throughout Northern Ireland is required.

What you’ll be doing:
Assist in developing, implementing and reviewing health and safety policies, procedures and documentation to meet legislative requirements and industry standards.
Provide advice and support to managers and employees on health and safety matters, promoting safe work practices and emergency procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, identifying hazards and recommending control measures to mitigate risks effectively.
Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety.
Other HSE related tasks as directed by the HSE Lead or Business Unit leadership.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, senior managers and supply chain to foster positive relationships and promote a proactive approach to health and safety.
Participate in health and safety meetings, committees and working groups, representing the health and safety interests of the organisation.
Assist in preparing health and safety reports and presentations for management and regulatory authorities as required.
Undertake internal audits of the health and safety system, ensuring actions are closed out by relevant stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
Knowledge and implementation of HSE Legislation NI & GB
NEBOSH General Certificate
Strong communication and influencing skills
Experience with audits, compliance and risk assessments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The
purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive benefits.
