Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.

Reporting to the Governance Manager, the Governance & Risk Specialist has responsibility for managing various types of Governance within the Business. Working collaboratively with the customer and Tier 1 partners to ensure the achievement of contractual requirements. They will also be responsible for managing all risks on the joint risk register with our customer, hold regular meetings to review mitigations and actions and produce monthly reports to reflect the risk data. This is a key role that requires significant stakeholder engagement

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure Governance Compliance: Oversee adherence to Capita and Selborne contract governance and change management frameworks.
  • Manage Change Requests: Log, track, and manage all Selborne Change Requests and related documentation.
  • Data Accuracy & Reporting: Ensure accurate analysis and timely reporting of change performance data and governance metrics.
  • Support Governance Meetings: Provide secretarial support and contribute to governance and contract management working groups.
  • Document & Process Management: Maintain structured documentation and support training on change processes.
  • Monitor Timelines & Risk: Ensure change processes meet required timescales and mitigate risks to compliance and delivery.

  • Proven experience in a commercial environment
  • Strong MS office skills including MS Excel and SharePoint

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience of managing risk
  • Any awareness of MOD contracts would be highly desirable

About Selborne

Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.

  • A salary of up to £35,000 depending on skills and experience
