The Fire Service College: Where excellence meets resilience at the ultimate training ground for firefighting professionals. As a Lead Fire Safety Instructor, you will be responsible for assisting in managing the Fire Service College (FSC) Protection & Prevention (Fire Safety) Delivery Team. We are looking for committed and passionate individuals who share our vision and would like to be part of changing teaching and learning team within the Prevention & Protection arena.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting in the management, development and maintenance of the training delivery team including full time and associate tutors.
- Provide training/instruction in Fire Safety and Risk – these courses will be delivered both virtually/digitally and face to face, travel may be required.
- Assessing and marking delegate’s work.
- Ensuring appropriate teaching resources are in place to address customer needs.
- Making sure the learning environments and resources are fit for purpose to enable all learning outcomes to be achieved.
- Supporting with ongoing development of course content.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Previous experience of leading a team in a Regulatory (FRS) environment or similar.
- Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent) or Fire Risk Assessment (L3Cert / L4Cert FRA).
- You must be competent in Fire Safety and/or Building Regs and/or Quality Assurance and be passionate about the fire safety sector.
- Experience of technical fire safety, ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 9251, fire risk assessment, auditing and enforcement, fire protection, or fire engineering in all environments, from domestic, commercial and industrial premises.
Desirable:
- A1 Assessors / RQF / CAVA / TAQA.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) (or PTLLS).
- Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and Fire Investigation (Level 5 or Degree) would be an advantage.
- Be competent in the use of digital resources such as Microsoft Office products. Training will be provided for our bespoke delivery systems.
- L5 Fire Investigation would be an advantage.
