Are you a natural people person with the confidence to pick up the phone, build instant rapport and spot opportunities others might miss? We're looking for a Business Development Executive with genuine sparkle, someone who brings character, curiosity and commercial drive to every conversation. In this role, you'll help schools and trusts get the very best from our CPS products and services, using your energy, insight and relationship building skills to open doors, nurture warm relationships and champion solutions that make a real impact. This is a home‑based role with travel to client sites, mainly across schools and trusts in the Midlands and the central regions. You can expect to visit customers around 2-3 times per week, with occasional trips to other areas as needed to maintain strong relationships and support their needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identifying opportunities through proactive market scanning and customer insight to support business development plans.
  • Building awareness and generating leads across schools and trusts using calls, email outreach, Teams and face‑to‑face engagement.
  • Showcasing CPS products and services to existing education customers, using prepared collateral and support from subject matter experts.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of CPS products and propositions to effectively position, showcase and demonstrate value, driving upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Generating qualified pipeline and progressing opportunities through Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting, robust qualification, adherence to sales governance and effective closing of new business.
  • Nurturing existing client relationships to identify needs, drive upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, and ensure a smooth transition into Business Development, Client Engagement or Account Management teams.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous sales experience with the confidence to qualify opportunities, build rapport quickly and close deals effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
  • Data‑driven approach, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail when managing pipelines.
  • Self‑starter mentality with solid time‑management skills, able to prioritise, manage your diary and stay on top of workload independently.
  • Resilience and a growth mindset, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced sales environment.
  • Collaborative and relationship‑focused.
