Since 2012, Capita have been working in partnership with the British Army to deliver best in class recruitment services. The Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP) is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and selecting officers and soldiers for the Army (Regular and Reserve), meeting targets based around quantity, quality, and candidate experience.
Assessment and Selection of potential Army officers is conducted at the Army Officer Selection Board in Westbury. Candidates are assessed by serving officers and supported and facilitated by Capita staff. Psychometric profiling serves to provide quality assurance throughout selection, and Boards are supported by a team of Education Advisers who conduct this assessment against the candidate\’s educational achievement.
This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week at our offices in Westbury, Wiltshire.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assessing the Intellectual Potential, in military terms, of candidates
- Acting as professional adviser on all aspects of assessment practice to the Board Vice Presidents on each Selection Board
- Analysing, interpreting and explaining results of psychometric tests
- Assessing overall individual performance of candidates under all aspects of testing
- Assisting in the training of Army Reserve and Regular Army board members
- Providing input on assessment procedures and practice to new selection boards
Essential qualifications/skills/experience
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a professional assessor.
- Extensive experience in training development and the management of training
- Empathy/understanding of candidates who will range in age between 16 and 50+.
- The ability to write evidence-based reports
- Experience of working with psychometric assessments
Desirable qualifications/skills/experience
- An understanding of the military, would be an advantage
- Experience in the provision of learning and personal development
- CIPD Qualifications or Membership at Associate level or higher, would be desirable
- Membership of a relevant professional education/training national or international organisation
