We have an exciting opportunity for an Insight & Analytics Manager to join Capita Public Services, supporting the BBC TV Licensing contract. This is a high-profile, large-scale service where data-led decision-making, service continuity, operational performance and measurable value are critical.
In this role, you’ll lead and develop the Insight & Analytics capability across TV Licensing, turning operational, customer, commercial and performance data into clear insight, practical recommendations and measurable business outcomes. You’ll combine hands-on analytical delivery with team leadership, stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to shape how insight, data science, automation and AI support business improvement.

This is a full time, permanent role offering hybrid working - with monthly visits to our Darwen/London/Bristol offices. The initial period will require several days on site at Darwen as part of an immersive induction, details to be arranged at point of offer.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading high-quality insight, analytics and data science activity across TV Licensing.
- Translating complex data into clear, practical recommendations for operational, commercial and senior stakeholders.
- Identifying trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers through complex investigations and deep dives.
- Ensuring analytical work is aligned to business priorities and delivers measurable operational, commercial and customer outcomes.
- Building trusted relationships across TVL, the BBC, Capita and cross-functional teams.
- Leading the development of insight products, dashboards, models, frameworks and self-service outputs.
- Identifying opportunities to use predictive analytics, automation, AI and data science to improve performance and efficiency.
- Promoting strong analytical standards, quality assurance, responsible data use and governance.
- Quantifying, validating and tracking benefits from analytics, automation and insight-led recommendations.
- Line-managing, coaching and developing a high-performing Insight & Analytics team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in data analytics, business insight, data science, performance analysis or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on capability with Python, SQL, Power BI, data visualisation and analytical problem-solving.
- Experience leading complex analytical investigations, deep dives and performance improvement activity.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience developing analytical outputs that support decision-making, operational change and measurable business improvement.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing analysts, data scientists or analytical professionals.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with operational, commercial and senior stakeholders.
- Good understanding of data quality, analytical validation, responsible data use, governance and benefit realisation.
What You’ll Also Need
- Experience working in a regulated, public-service, outsourced or complex operational environment would be highly beneficial.
- Experience applying statistical methods, forecasting, predictive modelling or analytical scripting tools such as Python or R.
- Experience using AI, machine learning or GenAI tools to improve productivity or analytical outcomes.
- Understanding of business cases, ROI assessment, benefit tracking, self-service analytics or embedded analytical solutions.
- Familiarity with data engineering, data platforms, cloud environments or modern data ecosystems.
- Confidence balancing hands-on analytical delivery with line management, coaching and stakeholder engagement.
