We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Consulting team. You will work in the Corporate actuarial team alongside our Corporate Consultants / Corporate Actuaries.
Key Accountabilities:
- Acting as an Actuarial Analyst to a portfolio of schemes, providing full back up support to the Corporate team.
- Delivering accurate actuarial calculations that can be checked efficiently, including accounting disclosures, funding valuations, individual calculations and feasibility studies.
- Initial drafting of actuarial and other pensions advice to clients working from templates or bespoke to suit client needs.
- Team member on multi stakeholder projects.
- Working efficiently in terms of costs and timing of delivery.
- Complying with professional guidance.
- Participating in new client appointment pitches (if desired) and building the sales material.
- To be aware of new technical or legislative changes within the market place.
- Contribute to the development of new products/services to address these changes.
- To comply at all times with the Compliance, Training and Competence framework of Pensions Consulting.
- Adopts a culture of compliance and risk awareness focusing on the principles of Pensions Consulting and Capita Group.
- Student member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries making progress towards an actuarial qualification: FIA or CAA (will also consider candidates that are no longer studying but with relevant work experience).
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, pensions, actuarial and FCA requirements.
- Excellent technical ability in all areas of actuarial calculations and excellent spreadsheet skills, potentially including VBA.
- Use of Pfaroe or similar modelling software advantageous.
- Effective and agile problem solver with the ability to be innovative and creative – some work will be innovative and/or new.
- Excellent client focus, commitment to quality and presentation skills.
