We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team. This is a Hunting role to find and develop work out of new accounts for Capita Intelligent Communications (CIC). Capita Intelligent Communications (CIC) offers a range of integrated solutions delivered in-house that can enable an organisation to dramatically improve how information is input, handled, archived, and then output and communicated to stakeholders by the business.

Solutions include digital mailroom, invoice and forms processing, transactional print, hybrid mail, print management, onsite managed print solutions, web-based repositories, storage, destruction and consultancy, and recent AI initiatives that help businesses process more efficiently.

This is a mobile role, you will be required to travel between clients and CIC’s production facilities, you will need a full clean driving licence and be prepared to travel extensively with this role.

What you will be doing:

  • Bring in new business - specifically new Commercial work that can fit CIC's existing Outbound and Inbound Services – both physical and digital.
  • Develop a Growth Business Plan and brief the Sales Director and SLT for agreement on strategy - including possible requirements for generation of Marketing and any other requirements to fulfil sales.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate pipeline of new business opportunities (using Salesforce).
  • Work collaboratively with the Sector Leads within Capita to make sure CIC meets its overall target - this may include supporting the sales team with existing presentations and collateral and cross selling CIC to these verticals.
  • Draft solution specifications and calculate and submit quotations for new business with the support of financial, pre-sales and operational teams where necessary.
  • Work with the Growth Rate Card cost model and maximise Revenue on top of that.
  • Work with pre-sales teams and facilitate scoping and business analysis to ensure CIC fully understands any requirement and can draft the appropriate solution.
  • You will develop a deep understanding of our client’s needs and ensure CIC are positioned to identify and win any new business opportunities and ensure new clients are aware of CIC’s capabilities and range of services. This may include presenting or performing product demonstrations.

What we're looking for:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in winning and delivering complex deals.
  • Demonstrable evidence of winning new work / new logos in physical and digital comms (value of deals circa £5 million +).
  • Ability to build close working relationships at all levels.
  • Sales orientated.
  • Ability to be consultative and diplomatic to clients with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
