Are you a dynamic and results-driven professional with a passion for driving growth and innovation? Capita Local Public Services is seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join our team. In this exciting role, you will leverage your expertise to identify new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and contribute to the transformation of public services. This role specifically aligns to our Community Health sector, where we are actively seeking an individual who can demonstrate experience across the health markets including NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Board and Integrated Care System.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Boost sales by securing and delivering a strong pipeline of new business to support our growth strategy.
  • Provide market insights to shape our go-to-market strategy, set targets, and plan new business development.
  • Showcase solutions with compelling prototypes that highlight our standard offerings.
  • Lead client relationships to build trust and ensure deals meet both client needs and our commercial goals.
  • Create and share opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell our products and services.
  • Manage the sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and data-driven planning using Salesforce.
  • Responsible for taking deals through to close in line with your targets and commission plan.
  • Tender management including opportunity capture, proposal writing, bid support and management through to submission.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong Business Development background, closing both transactional (£100k+) and larger scale deals (up to £multi-million) with demonstrated sales success.
  • A background in NHS (Health Trusts & ICS / ICB).
  • Commercial and growth acumen, with the ability to build and execute robust business development & win strategies in complex market environments.
  • Self-starter able to work from white space to generate, influence, nurture and close opportunities.
  • Engaging communicator, able to excite clients with compelling division offerings & build trusting relationships quickly.
  • Demonstrates resilience and decisive, timely decision-making to close or pursue opportunities, ensuring pipeline health and efficiency to maximise sales value for Client Group and division.
  • Drives & models best practice sales disciplines in business development practice, account planning, opportunity pipeline management, reporting and risk management (super-user of Salesforce).
  • Collaborative leadership and relationship management in large matrix environment to engender and deliver shared outcomes.
