As a Business Development Manager in our Learning and Defence and National Preparedness sectors, you will play a pivotal role in driving year-on-year profitable growth by identifying, nurturing, and closing new customer and business opportunities. You will unlock the full potential of CPS's offerings by championing our propositions, collaborating across client groups, and strategically connecting the dots to maximise growth opportunities and deliver real impact.

This is a remote role with some limited client travel as required.

What you will be doing:

  • Prospect, nurture, open, and close a portfolio of new customer/business opportunities to achieve profitable growth.
  • Maximise growth opportunities for Capita Public Service by leveraging CPS propositions and collaborating across client groups.
  • Develop compelling win strategies for new business acquisition, focusing on new logos and additional business from existing clients.
  • Drive sales performance to build a robust, multi-year pipeline supporting growth strategies.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and ensure deal proposals adhere to standards.
  • Manage sales forecasting and pipeline using Salesforce for accurate planning and performance tracking.

What we are looking for:

  • Robust business development experience in complex markets.
  • Track record of winning business worth over £10M TCV.
  • Experience in Learning or Defence sectors is desirable.
  • Self-motivated with ability to generate and close opportunities independently.
  • Experience engaging at senior/mid levels of client decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills to excite clients and build trust.
  • Resilience and decisiveness in pursuing opportunities.
  • Strong sales discipline, account planning, pipeline management, and risk management skills (super-user of Salesforce).
  • Deep market insights to develop credible growth strategies.
