This is an exciting opportunity for an established Project Manager to lead and deliver largeâscale, multidisciplinary capital projects for a range of public sector clients, including NHS Trusts, education authorities and local government.
What youâll be doing:
- Delivering complex, multidisciplinary capital projects for public sector clients, ensuring successful outcomes across time, cost and quality.
- Providing operational leadership for the team, including monthly forecasting, financial monitoring and wider business management to ensure financial targets are achieved or exceeded.
- Engaging with senior leaders to raise the profile of the team and support a strong, collaborative and integrated team culture.
- Leading on new business activity, supporting bids and tenders, promoting the teamâs services and proactively identifying opportunities through internal and external networking.
- Overseeing team leadership and performance management, including team structure, appraisals, development planning and career progression within the wider team.
- Managing recruitment activity across the team, including role definition, demand analysis and administration of Capitaâs hiring processes.
- Preparing fee proposals, overseeing invoicing and managing monthâend processes, ensuring strong commercial and operational performance.
- Collaborating with multiâdisciplinary teams and key stakeholders, maintaining strong partnerships across the business and with clients.
- Travelling to sites when required, working across a national portfolio of projects (with travel expenses covered).
What weâre looking for:
Essential Criteria:
- PM experience in a consultancy environment, managing multiâdisciplinary design and construction schemes and delivering projects to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Experience delivering public sector projects, with some Local Authority experience desirable.
- Degreeâqualified in a constructionârelated discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering).
- Chartered in a suitable discipline â QS, BS or Civil Engineering (e.g., MRICS, MICE, MAPM).
- Strong understanding of a range of procurement methods and management methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, influence stakeholders and work in close partnership with clients.
- A deliveryâdriven, highly organised individual with a positive, selfâmotivated, canâdo attitude.
- Membership of MICE, MRICS or MAPM.
Desirable Criteria:
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety.
- Ability to innovate procurement approaches to achieve delivery targets.
- Previous experience with business management or holding financial accountability.
