Kick start your career on the water with a Marine Mechanical & Electrical Apprenticeship. Earn while you learn in a full-time role with 1 day a week at college at HMS Raleigh, Jupiter Point, Torpoint (Cornwall). This is a permanent opportunity. Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level).
What Will You Be Doing?
- Completing a Level 2 Maritime Mechanical & Electrical Apprenticeship
- Assisting with the electrical maintenance of training equipment at Jupiter Point and HMTU, ensuring performance standards are met
- Helping to record and track equipment maintenance, supporting efficiency and cost reduction
- Following health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
- Providing support to Fast Inshore Attack Craft serials
- Supporting wider areas of the contract, including Rehabilitation at Sea Trainer and Safety Swimmer activities
This is a practical, varied and outdoor role, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and learning new skills.

Eligibility Criteria
- You are 18 or over at the start of the apprenticeship
- You are not in full‑time education when the apprenticeship begins
- You do not already hold a qualification in a related subject at the same level or above
- You can provide proof of residence in England for the duration of the apprenticeship
You’ll complete your apprenticeship over 12‑24 months, gaining recognised qualifications, hands-on experience and a strong foundation for a long-term career in marine engineering. Once qualified, you’ll be well placed to decide what’s next in your career – with support from Capita every step of the way.
