Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster. Help shape the next generation of frontline firefighting professionals—supporting and then progressing to delivering expert training in a world-class marine training facility. Full-time role - 40 hours a week. Paisley, Scotland. Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
Responsibilities
- Initially supporting the delivery of theoretical and practical marine firefighting training instruction
- Once qualified you will become an Instructor carrying out the training directly
- Acting as Safety Officer for practical firefighting training
- Acting as the Control Room Operator, monitoring safety systems and controlling the fire compartment settings and parameters
- Ensuring all training equipment, training areas and classrooms are correctly prepared prior to use
- Providing First Aid response (training provided)
- Ensuring health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with
- Maintaining documentation, test, and calibration records
Essential Skills
- Previous experience within Navy or Fire Service (ideally Royal Navy)
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Team player
- Physically fit and able to wear Breathing Apparatus and work in extremely hot conditions
- Proficiency in using IT within the workplace
Desirable Skills
- Experience/knowledge of submarines
