Join us at HMS Sultan and help train the next generation of engineers through engaging classroom theory and hands‑on practical delivery – no Naval background needed. You'll deliver training up to Foundation Degree level, support assessments, and help keep course content current as technology evolves. Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week (Monday‑Friday). Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver Gas Turbine theory and practical training to civilian and service learners, up to Foundation Degree level
- Prepare, deliver and assess training, including marking written and practical work
- Develop and update course materials to reflect new technology and equipment
- Maintain and repair training equipment and learning aids
- Keep technical knowledge up to date through ongoing learning and training
- Act as a technical subject matter expert and provide support to internal and external stakeholders as needed
What we’re looking for:
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Candidates will have served a recognised apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training in Diesel Engines to the appropriate ONC level.
- Candidates should have a minimum of five years post Apprenticeship/training experience in a relevant working environment.
- Candidates will be required to provide evidence of ability, experience and any qualifications held.
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Recognised teaching qualification or previous experience in a training/instructional role would be beneficial but training in Defence instructional techniques will be provided for the successful applicant without prior experience.

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata'd and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
