Full‑time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term‑time only basis. HMS Sultan, Portsmouth. Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver hands‑on workshop training in fitting, turning, milling and general engineering skills
- Demonstrate techniques, guide trainees, and help them build confidence on the tools
- Support learners working towards recognised engineering qualifications
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure safe working practices
- Share your real‑world experience to bring learning to life
What we're looking for:
- A recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) in fitting/turning or mechanical engineering
- Strong, recent hands‑on workshop experience
- Skills across machining, fitting, milling, grinding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Any experience coaching, mentoring or helping others learn
- CAD knowledge
What you'll get in return:
- Salary up to £42,000 (pro rata £41,265 term‑time only)
- Term‑time working (45 weeks) – enjoy extended breaks at Christmas, Easter & summer. The salary is pro‑rata and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
