Join us as a Field Officer and play a key role in supporting local communities. You’ll visit customers at their homes, discuss TV licence requirements, explain available solutions, and help them take the next steps—with full training, great benefits, and the freedom of working independently.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Field Officer, you’ll play an important role in supporting TV Licensing by engaging with customers across the Cardiff area. Working independently, you’ll manage your own daily schedule, visiting addresses where no TV licence is recorded and helping customers understand their licensing obligations.
- Visiting residential addresses throughout the CF83 postcode area
- Speaking with customers professionally and respectfully
- Explaining TV Licensing requirements and available options
- Setting up payment plans where appropriate
- Recording visit outcomes accurately using mobile technology
- Making informed decisions and working independently in the field
- Occasionally attending court as part of the enforcement process
You’ll start and finish your day from home, travelling locally using either a company vehicle or your own vehicle. Full training and equipment will be provided to help you succeed in the role.

- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- To live within the CF83 postcode area
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm, professional and resilient in a variety of customer situations
- Strong problem‑solving skills and sound judgement
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when recording information
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
- Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices and applications
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends
Experience in a customer‑facing role is highly desirable. More importantly, we’re looking for people who can demonstrate professionalism, empathy, resilience and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Working Pattern
To support customers at times that suit them best, you’ll work 12 of your 36.5 weekly hours between 4pm and 9pm Monday to Friday, or at any time during weekends. This flexible working pattern allows you to organise the remainder of your week around your lifestyle and commitments.
