Our functional specialists write reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in making decisions about health and care. This role is suitable for healthcare professionals like nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, or paramedics seeking to leverage their experience in a different setting. It offers the chance to improve assessment skills, make clinical recommendations, and develop new expertise.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial reviews and assessments (paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone).
  • Observe and report on individuals' ability to perform activities.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence.
  • Create detailed reports (3,000-4,000 words) for each claimant, up to 3 daily.
  • Provide sufficient evidence and justification for DWP decision-making.
  • Enhance your clinical knowledge about less familiar health conditions.

This role is hybrid, involving remote work and assessments at local centers on a rota basis.

Qualifications:
  • At least one year's post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic.
  • Full registration with a UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or others) without restrictions, with a valid PIN.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, produce timely reports, and meet targets.
  • Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office; ability to access remote systems.
  • Valid driving license or access to transportation for assessment centers.
  • Successful candidates must pass government baseline vetting for security clearance.
Working Hours:

7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week, with flexible hours between 8am-8pm, subject to agreement with your manager after training.
