Make a Meaningful Impact with Your Clinical Expertise

Are you a qualified healthcare professional looking for a new challenge away from traditional clinical settings? If you are a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic or doctor, you could use your skills in a different way as a functional specialist. At Capita, we are looking for compassionate and detail-oriented professionals to join our Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) as Functional Specialists. In this role, you will use your clinical knowledge to carry out functional assessments and compile evidence-based reports that help the Northern Ireland Department for Communities (NIDFC) make informed decisions about benefit claims.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct telephone assessments and face-to-face functional assessments of individuals with disabilities or health conditions.
  • Compile clear, concise and factual medical reports - no treatment or diagnosis required.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and administrators to meet service level agreements.
  • Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.
  • Embrace ongoing feedback and professional development.

What We Are Looking For:

  • One year's post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic or doctor.
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, GMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A professional, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to undergo BPSS security clearance.

Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete government baseline personnel security standard vetting. This is the recognised standard for the pre-employment screening of individuals with access to government assets.

What’s in it for You?

  • A competitive basic starting salary of £39,500, increasing to £40,500 on achieving DfC approval.
  • Over 100 hours of CPD in your first 3 months.
  • 25 days holiday (rising to 27 after 5 years) with the opportunity to buy extra leave.
  • Annual professional registration fee reimbursed and supported revalidation.
  • The opportunity to take a paid day out of the office, volunteering for our charity partners or a cause of your choice.
  • Company matched pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave, paternity pay of two weeks and plenty more.
  • Opportunity to purchase discounted benefits designed to suit your lifestyle from discounts on retail and socialising, to health and wellbeing, travel and technology.
  • Refer a friend reward scheme.
  • Access to the Headspace app for you and up to 5 family or friends.
  • Access to our Employee Network Groups, which represent every strand of diversity and allow colleagues to connect and learn from each other on an open, inclusive platform.

You will get the chance to follow your chosen career path anywhere in Capita. You will be joining a network of experienced, innovative and dedicated individuals across multiple disciplines and sectors.
