Job Description

Capiconic is a vertically integrated international EPC and Asset Management company that specialises in the development, deployment and management of advanced manufacturing and processing systems in select frontier markets within the agriculture and specialist food sectors.

Wholly owned by the United Green, an ambitious private capital venture with a legacy in greenfield development spanning almost 100 years years, Capiconic works in partnership with Government Ministries, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Development Banks, NGO’s and DFI’s across emerging territories and is fast-establishing itself as one of the worlds foremost expert companies for the delivery of advanced agri-food processing systems.

We are currently seeking to employ a Dairy Design Engineer to join our small but expanding team. This position will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects across Capiconic’s international portfolio. The role will initially be remote, but with frequent travel to our London HQ, as well as to project sites and supplier locations, so a willingness and ableness to travel is vital.

This position will report into the Head of Engineering, who is based in London. For the right experience, we would be willing to consider providing relocation and sponsorship support after 6 months. You would also need to be available to work UK operating hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining project plans, ensuring timely execution and delivery.
  • Participating in project meetings and creating action plans for assigned tasks.
  • Creating process flow diagrams (PFDs) and basic piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Liaising with machinery suppliers, conducting technical discussions, and evaluating proposals.
  • Preparing detailed equipment specifications and checklists for machinery requirements.
  • Designing machinery layouts and ensuring compliance with static and dynamic load requirements.
  • Performing mass and energy balance calculations.
  • Collaborating with the supply chain team for the procurement of machinery and equipment.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Supporting the commissioning and startup of new equipment or processes.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintaining regular reporting and communication with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating basic knowledge of automation, process control, and DIN/ISO norms.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience specifically in the processing of infant or powdered milk products is essential, either in-house or from a consultancy background. General dairy processing will also be considered.

Technical Skills and Tools:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Visio, and AutoCAD 2D (3D is an advantage).
  • Familiarity with piping software and process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems for project management and procurement.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
