We’re seeking fellow platform engineers who want to grow their career and delight customers through a hybrid of project and foundational activities. We take a modern approach of working collaboratively internally and externally to achieve high levels of satisfaction both for our clients and ourselves collectively. We achieve this through focused groups of technical people, known as Pods, coming together to deliver and maintain cloud services to UK clients. The strength of our pods lies within our people, fostered by a supportive team culture. Our ideal candidate would thrive in such an environment.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role: As an integral member of a Cloud Pod, you’ll help design, build and maintain secure, reliable and reusable cloud platforms for our UK clients. You’ll work alongside other Cloud Engineers, platform specialists and delivery teams to support both project delivery and foundational platform improvements, with a strong focus on automation, standardisation and continuous improvement. As part of the team, you’ll be empowered to:

  • Build, maintain and improve cloud platforms using a code-first approach, with a strong focus on technical reuse, standardisation, automation and blueprints rather than manual “ClickOps”.
  • Work collaboratively within agile delivery environments, contributing to sprint-based activities that support customer outcomes and platform maturity.
  • Apply modern cloud engineering practices, including Infrastructure as Code, version control, CI/CD, observability, security and operational resilience.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Capgemini’s cloud platform patterns, reusable assets and engineering standards.
  • Continue to develop your capability through hands‑on experience, professional training, certifications and knowledge-sharing within the Cloud Engineering community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across pods, customers and wider delivery teams to solve problems, improve services and deliver sustainable cloud solutions.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini building an inclusive future is part of everyday life and will be part of your working reality. We have built a representative and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong hands‑on experience designing, building and maintaining AWS cloud platforms and services.
  • Practical knowledge of core AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, identity and monitoring capabilities.
  • Experience delivering Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, with a strong focus on standardisation, reuse and automation.
  • Good understanding of cloud networking, security principles and operational resilience within AWS environments.
  • Experience with version control and collaborative engineering practices, ideally using GitHub.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in agile delivery environments, collaborating closely with platform, DevOps and customer teams.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini, striving for equity, diversity and inclusion is part of everyday life, and will be part of your working reality. We have built an inclusive and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your security clearance and pre-employment checks: If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service). Some roles will also require an additional level of security clearance: Security Check (SC) Clearance: To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Make it real – what does it mean for you?

  • Flexibility to work your way: You will be encouraged to have a positive work‑life balance. Our hybrid‑first way of working means we embed hybrid working in all that we do and make flexible working arrangements the day‑to‑day reality for our people. All UK employees are eligible to request flexible working arrangements.
  • Your wellbeing: You’d be joining an accredited Great Place to work for Wellbeing in 2024. Employee wellbeing is vitally important to us as an organisation. We see a healthy and happy workforce a critical component for us to achieve our organisational ambitions. To help support wellbeing we have trained ‘Mental Health Champions’ across each of our business areas, and we have invested in wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy.

How to prepare for a job interview at Capgemini

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Capgemini uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
