Our UK SAP CoE is part of a global network of SAP specialists dedicated to helping clients unlock value through innovative, AI-enabled SAP solutions. Capgemini offers a unique set of capabilities in the SAP market: end-to-end business and technology consulting, applications management, business process outsourcing, and market-leading data migration and governance.
As SAP Business Development & Presales Director, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing these capabilities to shape business-led, AI-enabled solutions for some of the UK’s largest SAP transformation programmes. You will build trusted relationships with client C-suite executives and senior leaders, originate and qualify opportunities, lead strategic pursuits, and help define the propositions that drive the continued growth of Capgemini’s SAP business.
Hybrid working: The places that you work day to day will vary according to your role, your needs and that of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client site and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home for 100% of the time.
Your role as a Presales Director will include:
- Business development and growth: Developing and converting a strong pipeline of SAP transformation opportunities across existing and new clients.
- Executive client engagement: Building trusted relationships with C-suite executives and senior business stakeholders.
- Business transformation shaping: Framing client transformation agendas and business cases, working with our business transformation, industry and change capabilities to connect SAP-enabled technology change to measurable operational and financial outcomes.
- Pursuit leadership: Leading SAP pursuits from qualification through to contract award, directing or working within multi-disciplinary pursuit teams to shape differentiated client propositions.
- Solution innovation: Shaping AI-enabled SAP transformation solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes, leveraging and evolving Capgemini assets, accelerators and global delivery capabilities.
- Commercial and delivery integrity: Ensuring solutions are deliverable and commercially sound, and handing over to delivery leadership with scope, assumptions and client expectations clearly understood and owned.
- Key account development: Working with account leadership to shape our most significant SAP accounts, building lasting client relationships and identifying follow-on opportunities as programmes progress.
- Market and alliance leadership: Playing a key role in Capgemini’s strategic relationship with SAP and other ecosystem partners, and representing Capgemini at client events, SAP forums and industry thought leadership activities.
Your skills and experience:
Need to have:
- Demonstrable experience of solutioning and leading winning SAP transformation deals in the £10m to £50m+ range.
- A proven track record of originating, qualifying and converting SAP opportunities within a consulting, systems integrator or enterprise software environment.
- Credibility and personal presence at C-suite level, with the ability to hold a business transformation conversation as readily as a technology one.
- Deep working knowledge of the SAP portfolio (including S/4HANA, RISE and GROW with SAP, BTP and SAP Business AI) and how it is applied to business transformation.
- Experience of shaping commercial constructs – fixed price, managed service and outcome-based – in partnership with pricing, risk, legal and delivery colleagues.
- Proven ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary virtual teams without direct line authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including authoring and presenting winning propositions to executive audiences.
Nice to have:
- Established relationships within the UK SAP ecosystem and partner community.
- Sector depth in one or more of Capgemini’s priority industries, such as Consumer Products and Retail, Energy and Utilities, Heavy Manufacturing, Aerospace and Defence or Public Sector.
- Experience of large-scale data migration and data governance approaches, ideally including Syniti and selective data transitions.
