Your Role
Are you a detail-oriented designer who values precision and innovation? We are looking for a talented Product Definition Group (PDG) Designer/Checker to bring technical excellence and creative flair to our dynamic team in Bristol. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of our product definition process, crafting models and drawings, incorporating Definition Alteration Requests (DARs), and supporting manufacturing and build activities. Your work will help shape the future of engineering excellence.

Your Profile
Technical Expertise
- CAD proficiency: Mastery of NX & Teamcenter is essential for creating and reviewing complex 3D models and 2D drawings.
- GD&T knowledge: Understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ensures designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
- Engineering standards: Company-specific drawing standards for compliance and consistency.
Attention to Detail
- Error detection: Ability to spot inconsistencies, missing dimensions, or incorrect annotations in drawings.
- Design intent alignment: Ensures that drawings accurately reflect the product's functional and performance goals.
Process Discipline
- Change management: Experience with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and configuration control to maintain traceability.
- Documentation rigor: Skilled in maintaining drawing logs, revision histories, and release protocols.
Desirable
- Design & Update: Create and revise NX models and drawings for components, assemblies, and build instructions, including DAR incorporation and red-line mark-ups.
- Engineering Support: Generate layouts to support design, manufacturability, and build activities, often linked to producibility improvements.
- Drawing Review: Check and verify detailed drawings for accuracy, tolerancing, material specs, and feasibility; provide feedback to improve drafting standards.
- Collaboration & Control: Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, maintain PLM control (Teamcenter), and ensure drawing revision history is accurate.
- Tools & Reporting: Use NX, Teamcenter, Formtek, LeanKit, and Outlook to manage inputs, track progress, and communicate PDG activity status.
