YOUR ROLE
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, organisations must deliver change at scale while maintaining operational stability. At the heart of this challenge lies the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary releases that bring together technology, business, and customer outcomes. We are looking for experienced Release & Deployment Managers to join our Business Technology capability within Capgemini Invent, supporting enterprise-wide transformation programmes. You will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the successful delivery of high-impact releases—ensuring alignment across architecture, integration, business assurance, and governance. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front, working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to deliver value through structured, well-governed release management.
Responsibilities
- Release Delivery Leadership: Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned releases, including the development and management of detailed Release Plans. Provide strategic direction to cross-functional teams, including matrix management of Solution Delivery Partner (SDP) resources.
- Governance and Controls: Maintain robust RAIDO (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Opportunities) logs and ensure full compliance with programme governance standards and frameworks.
- Solution Architecture Alignment: Collaborate with the Release Architect to define and maintain an approved solution architecture, ensuring alignment with the wider programme’s target architecture and technical strategy.
- System Integration Oversight: Lead the planning and execution of system integration activities, working closely with the Programme Technical Integration Team to ensure seamless interoperability across platforms.
- Business Assurance and Value Realisation: Partner with the Business Release Lead to ensure that release scope meets business and customer needs, and that outputs remain aligned to measurable benefits.
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
- Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
- Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
- Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
YOUR PROFILE
- Project Leadership: Able to manage and lead small project teams and interface with third-party vendors to deliver discrete changes into production, achieving strong outcomes for the client.
- Delivery Architecture: Capable of architecting delivery solutions using either Waterfall or Agile methodologies for specific features or in support of delivering one or more epics.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Comfortable interfacing with client stakeholders at all levels—from junior to senior—and able to communicate status updates and articulate key points effectively in decision-making forums.
- Translation of Technology Change: Skilled at translating complex technology changes into clear, understandable artefacts that enable business and product owners to assess impacts on the operating model.
Preferred but not required:
- Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Experience of proposition building and delivery.
